We may be down, but we're not out.

That statement from Max Talbot during last years SCF is a statement that has stuck with me.

Penguins are down 2-0 to the beast known as the Detroit Red Wings.

Don't get me wrong, the Wings are a good hockey team.

But so are the Penguins.

To be the best, you have to beat the best.
The Penguins are fully capable of doing that.

Unlike last year we've skated with them shift for shift, controlled the play for long stretches of time, and outshot them. A few missed chances, lucky bounces, and blatantly missed calls have all worked against the Pens. But we haven't been outplayed by any means. Dan Byslma has made the adjustments and the players have as well.

The refs have shoved their whistles so far up Bettman's ass I'm not sure they will ever come out. But that's the way the SCF are going to be, and the Penguins will work around it. No sense in complaining about it. If interference isn't going to be called, interfere. If covering the puck in the crease is now legal, do it. Beat the Red Wings at their own game. Sure we've gotten away with some stuff. But I will take those few penalties being called, if the Pens can get the 6 P.P.'s a game they have deserved.

Honestly if you are throwing the Penguins under the bus, take the first flight to Montreal and meet your new favorite team, The Canadiens. You'll fit in great there.

Coming back last year they were a team that didn't know what it took to come back in a series. They flew through the Eastern Conference with 2 speed bumps along the way.

They went down 2-0 and pushed for a game 6.

Pens Fans Don't Stop Believin'

This year with more experience, leadership, and skill, how can anyone possibly think this series is over?

This year we know what it takes and Sidney Crosby does not want to be in that photograph again.

Does anyone remember December through February 14th? The Pens were a team that couldn't even beat Tampa Bay, with all due respect. Now 4 months later the Pens are competing for the Stanley Cup, and not being out played, merely out lucked.

But still people are throwing them out the window. Ready and willing to let the Wings raise the cup again.

Not this year.

This is our year.

The Penguins didn't get this far out of luck. They got here out of hard work and determination. No team has reached the finals after losing the year before since the Oilers. The boys overcame that. Who is to say they can't overcome this?

I'm sick and tired of hearing how the Wings supporting cast out plays and is better the Penguins supporting cast. Unreal. If you believe this, have you ever watched hockey? Everyone is severly underrating the Penguins defense. If you hear people saying this, simply ignore them. Let the boys prove it for you, because they will.

The next 2 games are in our house.

17,182+ Penguins fans will be standing tall behind our team, not backing down or being intimidated by the Red Wings.

Pens fans remember who you are, and who the captain of this team is. He won't let this go without a fight to the end, with the entire team behind him.

The Penguins are relentless, resislant, and determined.

This is our year.

This is war.

No one touches my Russian and gets away with it. I hardly like any Russian that much. Gonchar and Letang are my favorite point men in the entire NHL. Even though Gonchar has pulled the typical disappearing Russian this post season, and the PP has been struggling with him on it, this is not okay. Even though our PP is bad enough with Gonch on it, it looked like the boys had taken LSD and were trying to run it.

You don't touch Sergei Gonchar in that manner and get away with it, especially if your name is Alexander Ovechkin. That right there just adds insult to injury.

Dear Ovechkin,

Stop acting like you care that you hurt your fellow countryman Gonch. You don't even deserve to call him Gonch. You had an off game, don't even blame it on the fact that you feel bad. You don't even know what you have just done, or what is coming to you. If the NHL doesn't get you, which they probably won't, one of the boys will get you. I hope to god Brooks Orpik channels Dion Phaneuf and Milan Lucic at center ice with a hit that makes you wish you were never born.

Love,

LeTude

Like I said, this is war. As if it wasn't before.

Do it boys.

It's Miller time...Aftermath Sabres- 5 - Leafs-3

It's probably considered a sin in Pittsburgh to be happy that Ryan Miller is back, but I am, so whatever.

This is going to be a shit re-cap as Henrik and I were being bad and sharking around the internet for bad pictures of hockey boys...

I was reading a Buffalo blog today and they kept saying "The team played like they cared, and they actually protected Miller. Where was this team a month ago?"

I'll tell you where, out to lunch because they know Lalime is a joke. It didn't matter if the boys scored, Lalime was letting everything in, with a few lucky saves in between.

I was telling my friend (a Leaf's fan) yesterday how to not count Buffalo as an easy win because the boys were going to be battling hard in front of Miller. They did just that.

I was hoping Miller would channel Broduer and get a shut out his first game back. It was looking that way through 2 periods, but hey, they got the 2 points either way.

I think before the puck even drop Hecht made the game 1-0. Cujo didn't even know what had happened. I'm not quite sure how the puck even went in either. But it did, duh.

Minutes later 2-on-1 with Connolly and MacArthur makes it 2-0 Buffalo. I bet the Sabres are breathing a sigh of relief after they signed him to his sort of ridiculous contract that 1. he's scoring and 2. he hasn't shattered into a million peices like the fragile man he is.

The Leafs attempt to score and Miller says "What do you think I am, a skank like Lalime? This is how a real goalie plays." Or something along those lines.

It was all Sabres through the second as Paille scores a ridiculous top shelf goal and Connolly finds the back of the net again. Right as I was mentioning to Henrik that Cujo was probably getting pulled, exit stage right Cujo, enter Pogge. I have to give Pogge credit, he stood on his head and kept the Leafs in it.

Intermissions involved watching other games and feeding my dog saltine crackers as Henrik and I measure our boobs to make sure we can fit into little boy jerseys. By the way, we can. $74 customized jerseys, here we come.

I waited on the third period Buffalo meltdown, and sure enough it happened. An unlucky bounce off of Miller brought them with in 2. Then Kulemin scored, or something. Goose had something to say about that though, and got the cushion goal.

Sabres win. Rock.

Random...

Staffy and Ruff apparently aren't seeing eye to eye right now and Ruff considered benching Staffy. He told him he had to play hard last night or he would. He's probably too busy scheduling his summer with ETID or something, whatev's, Drew is metal.

Dom had a nice little first game against former team. Him and Schenner decided to mix it up a little. Whoa. Lukey is quite big compared to Dom, and we love both of them. Luckily nothing really happened.

Patrick Kaleta is adorable. We decided that Jason Spezza, Kevin Bieksa, and Zach Parise had some crazy love triangle, and the outcome was Patrick Kaleta.

Things I've noticed while observing moron Penguins fans that I really don't care about.

Everyone and their mothers, fathers, Grandmothers, okay you get the point, hates the Senators & Buffalo. Why? Some people say it's the fans, the players, I say it's because they hear everyone else say it and it's the cool thing to do.

If the reason is the fans, then everyone would hate every other team because most fans for any team are douchebags towards people in the opponents jersey. If it's the players, then there is really no reason to hate Buffalo or the Sens (this year). I will agree in the past the Sens have been douchebags, but this year they have softened up and are quietly making their way towards 8th. Mathematically they aren't out of it and Clouston has them completely re-vamped.

A little 4-1-1 on the Sens since most people are too big of idiots to do their own research...

Ryan Shannon is making his presence known. He has scored some big goals for them and backchecks like he means business. He's an adorable little man, and I personally love him. You can thank him for his goal that beat the Rangers, yeah Shannon says "You're welcome Pittsburgh". Plus he wears a brown members only leather jacket from 1987. Did I mention he won the Cup with Anaheim? Not a big deal, really.

The boyfriends Spezza and Heatley, as always score most of the goals. You can't deny Heatley's talent. He is really good, as is Spezza. TheHockeyJunkies and I secretly think that Heatley promises Spezza a beaver tail per goal he scores. But hey, that's just a theory.

Jarkko Ruutu, sigh, as we know he went there in the off season. All I really have to say is Pen's fans booed him when he was here. Apparently they forgot that he actually wanted to stay here, but in the end Daddy Shero and Ruutu's ideas of contracts didn't see eye to eye. Oh yeah if you ever see this girl at the arena, snip her between the eyes. The 13 year old braces wearing girl doesn't even know what she just got herself into.

Brian Elliott whose past 5 starts have all been wins. Whatever.

As for Buffalo...

Really people think Pominville and Miller are jokes? Have you ever watched a Buffalo game? Probably not, because you're too busy with you're head stuck to far up your ass.

Right now the Sabres are struggling because Lalime is a joke. Hm weird. Miller in net, Sabres win. Miller out of net, Sabres lose. Not a joke.

Jason Pominville whom which Noodles loves, and will tell anyone why he is not a joke, go ahead, ask her.

Drew Stafford, which I've figured out most Pittsburgh fans don't even know he's alive, let alone play for the Sabres. He's having a pretty steady year and can score some amazing goals.

Derek Roy, leads them in points, is very Metro, and a skilled player.

Mike Card watch out for him, he's an up and coming defensemen, currently in the AHL.

Pens fans need to stay classy. This isn't Philly or Montreal. We don't boo our team, or jobbed our own players.

We're off the see the wizard.

The past few weeks have been like a dream come true for Penguin's fans after reliving horrifying nightmares night after night, and Therrien was apparently playing the part of the monster in our closest, who knew?

Things are looking up, but I as well as I believe everyone, is hesitant to get too far ahead of ourselves. The 14 game road ahead of us isn't an easy one, and even if it was the Penguins have proven that doesn't matter. But hey, that's the fun of it all. With games coming up against the Panthers (ugh, again?), Pittsburgh South, Rangers, Senators, and tonight with the Bluejackets, it's going to be a bumpy trip with a few St. Louis sized pot holes ahead.

This is the re-newed Penguins. The ones we remember from the playoffs. The ones that believed in themselves, and overcome adversities. As fans all we can do is, sit, watch, hold our breath, yell, throw things, and wait. And we wouldn't have it any other way.

As you may have read in TheHockeyJunkies blog, we recently have traveled to Wheeling and Columbus for some games. People may ask, why Wheeling? For one, ECHL games are hardcore, apparently helmets get thrown and for the first period almost no penalties are called. Awesome. Oh and a little fellow named Luca Caputi may have been there. A $20 ticket to see my prospect was a no brainer, and I dragged Noodles along for the ride. I apologized to her for embarrasing her in the parking lot. As I recieved the Sabres text after their game and jumped up and down in 4 inch heels yelling "DREW STAFFORD SCORED! DREW STAFFORD SCORED!" Woops. I forgot everyone and their mother hates Buffalo for no reason, and I wasn't exactly being discrete. Again Noodles, my apologies, haha.

And Columbus, no not for the Penguins, but for the Bruins, WHAT!? Well we decided to show up but the Bruins apparently took the night off, & I think Mason was slipped a couple hundred extra if he got a shut out, because he was waiving his glove hand around like Beyonce in Single Ladies. Good thing we love Stevie. To no surprise we got a ton of heckling as we pranced around the arena in heels eating cotton candy, and screaming things about the Bruins, Playoffs, and of course the Pens.

Tonight Noodles and I are being held hostage by Barnes and Noble Cafe, and Henrik by class. So none of us get to watch the game until later. Good thing we're used to this as we were held hostage every night of a Pen's game for about a month straight.

Saturday Noodles was gracious enough to give me her ticket to go to the Senators game, so I can see Ruutu (!!!) and many of the other Sens players, such as Shannon, Heatley, Spezza, I so guitifully love. Luckily Henrik loves a bunch of their players too, so I am not alone. It goes without saying that we want to Pens to win, just a bonus to see some other cuties. We plan on partaking in the St. Patty's day parade & festival shenanigans and then go to the game. Should be an interesting one.

Yesterday Noodles was telling me about how they were talking about the Sens and how none of them are single now that Mike Fisher is dating Carrie Underwood, and I immediately asked "What Ruutu isn't single?!" and her response was "They were talking about all the good-looking ones." Woops. I forgot I'm like the only female to find him attractive.

On that note he hasn't played in the Igloo since Game 6 of the finals. Damn.

In defense.

With trade deadline a little under 24 hours away players, fans, coaches, hell anyone in the hockey league is nervous and excited all at once.

Clouston mentioned how his guys have had many restless nights, and it's definitely apparent in the locker room. It's a topic of discussion among his guys, and I'm sure he's not just speaking for the Senators. It's probably apparent in almost ever locker room.

With the trade coming up so soon, I really wished more people would read this blog so maybe they could have a chance to becoming a little less retarded. People have been saying "trade Sidney Crosby" or that the team doesn't need them. That without him Malkin and the rest of the boys are so much better. And as if that's not bad enough, everyone and their mother has jumped on the Ovechkin is the best player in the world bandwagon, and has given Sid the cold shoulder.

Can I just say that this is absolutely f-ing ridiculous. At one point I almost said "You know what? Trade Sid. Then I can't wait to hear everyone bitch about how we gave up the best player in the NHL, when we figure out that the Pens, in fact, do need him. Everyone forgets all the differences in the playing style and general personality between all three players. Malkin and Ovechkin are both older then Sid, therefore automatically have more experience then him. Malkin and Ovechkin and both bigger and more physical then Sid, it's their playing style, not Sids. The entire future of the NHL was basically put on Sid's shoulders after the lockout. That he would be the new face of the NHL. So much was expected from him that both Malkin and Ovechkin could both just sort of fly under the radar.

Now Sid isn't meeting "expectations", like he's a factory worker or something, so everyone has been putting him down, and raising Ovie to the heavens. Not that I don't respect Ovie, he is a good player, not exactly an all around player like Sid and Geno, but a good player. But honestly I'm getting sick of everyone putting Sid down. He's 21 years old, and he led his team to the Stanley Cup Finals, only 2 wins away from the Cup. Now suddenly he's washed up and not impressive.

I really wish people would get off his back and chill the fuck out. The boys do need Sid. Just because they have won without him doesn't mean the team doesn't need him. I've heard people from other cities talk about how much we take Sid for granted, and this season I really see it. When the Pens played in Chicago, all you heard was how excited they were to see Sidney Crosby. In Pittsburgh we're ready to ship him out with a big red bow and a "Do Not Return to Sender" tag. Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

Whatever.

Miro was put on waivers to make more room. So obviously it looks as if their could be more trading to come. No one in my eyes is safe, and it looks like Jordan Staal is the guy everyone is going to be calling about. I personally don't want to trade Jordan Staal, but I am not Ray Shero. The next 24 hours are about to get interesting.

Tampa tonight. 18 games left, and anything can happen.

Norah is impressed. Penguins v. Stars 4-1 W

Norah, my newly acquired foster child, er, puppy, loves the Pens. It's true. She took Henrik's Pens fleece off of her so she could lay on it.
That's right, puppyface knows whats up.

& apparently the Pens did too.

Jordan Staal pretty much just said "Hey Pens fans that want to see me get traded. Screw you, bitches."

You know if Jordy doesn't go in the trade he's buying everyone shots and pitchers of Miller High Life. Because he's classy like that.

Our 3rd star Kris (!), once again channeled Sid for his goal. It was beautiful. Unfortunately since FSN was blacked out at this point, I missed it. Yeah. Thank you FSN, for semi-ruining my day. Oh and this marks his NHL career high points. 20. & Hopefully more where that came from. Like I said beautiful.

Miro scores. Again? Apparently someone else doesn't want to get traded. His goal was real nice too. Applause Miro, for showing us why we signed you. Now do that every game, and we can talk.

Malkin's goal was pure luck and good timing. Then again Malkin is probably top 3 people you don't want to give a lucky bounce to. A little cute, but Kris wouldn't let go of Malkin's arm until he hugged him.

Stars scored, eh, whatever. I actually wasn't hyperventalating for once this season just because we let one in.

Our Tim-Tim is back. Jdkjhlasdjkhasfahdadhahjd. This makes me so happy. It's pathetic but I'm honestly in love with just about half the Baby Pens.

I would really like the following to happen. We switch places with Florida, and then Buffalo can switch places with Florida. Whatevs.

Trade deadline is creeping just around the corner. Noodles and I plan on holding each other, and our dogs hostage starting 8am Wednesday.

We are nervous for the days before because as Shero showed us, hockey's a bitch and he blindsided everyone with a trade that big out of nowhere.

Saturday, February 28, 2009

I think I forgot I had a blog, woops.

So apparently I completely forgot I had a blog, whatevs. Things happen.

A lot has happened since I last blog.

-Therrien's firing.
-Bylsma to the potential rescue.
-Letang's 3 game bench.
-Letang back in the line up, (yayyyy!!).
-Ryan Whitney gets traded to...the Ducks, of all teams.
-Kunitz shows Pittsburgh what he can do, and we love it.
-SCOTT GOMEZ AND PATRICK LALIME ARE THE BANES OF MY EXISTENCE.

Dear Scott Gomez,

I never really liked you to begin with, and then you TAKE OUT RYAN MILLER AND GIVE HIM A HIGH ANKLE SPRAIN?!? W-T-F MAN?!

Sincerly,

Letude

Patrick Lalime is a freaking joke. Ugh, I can't even express how unimpressed I am with this whole situation.

Toews got his first career hatty, against the Pens. What a game. We had to give Noodles some Prozac to calm her down. Proudest moment of her life, probably.

Jordan Staal apparently does not want to get traded and had his best game since 1976. Him and Kunitz flirt like they are never going to see each other again. Cappy Bing better watch it, Staalzy potentially stole not only his winger, but was caught giving Kunitz "The face", we know what that means. If Kunitz goes out with a sore groin, we know what happened.

Gonch and Tanger or as I like to say, Gonch and Baby Gonch, on the point during the P.P. makes my live. Seriously. I'm euphoric when it's happening. Ask Noodles, she can atest to that.

On one last note

Ryan "Cutie" Shannon scored, he is one of the most adorable men ever.

Oh &...

JARKKO RUUTU FINALY SCORED!!!!! I swear it feels like that bitch hasn't scored since his amazingly sexual wrap around goal that I think I had a heart attack and an orgasm for at the same time.

Saturday, February 7, 2009

Another Kris Letang night in Pittsburgh.

Again it was the Tanger show, and I was overcome with joy. Along with every 40 year old man in Pittsburgh. I think Pittsburgh was almost flooded with the tears running down every Lemang's face. It's a scary, scary cult.

All I really have to say is it took this bitch 114 games to get a 2 goal night and then 10 days later he has another one. W-T-F. Whatever it's amazing. Maybe he'll get one against Detroit....

I think I'm being a little too optimistic with that, but hey a girl can dream can't she?

& The rest of the team, that's the hockey we crazy Penguin's fans know you can play. BRAVO.

Everyone brought their A game last night and it was beautiful.

Brooks Orpik killed the entire Columbus team.

Matt Cooke put his two cents in and destroyed a few lives as well.

Petr Sykora, whoa. What can I even say. He is the most adorable man alive.

LUCAAAAA almost had his 2cd NHL goal. So close, it's coming Luca, just wait.

The Flower AMAZING as always. His clutch "toe save" needs to be named after him.

It breaks my heart, and obviously Noodles as well that Mr. Goose was sent back down. At least he gets to play now, instead of sitting in the stupid box watching. Therrien called him a "victim of too many numbers". I can think of one defenceman I wouldn't mind seeing go and bringing Goose back up, but whatevs. Once Luca gets sent back down this gives us an excuse to make the long haul to WBS to see the boys. I cannot wait.

Tomorrow: Red Wings

Wednesday: Sharks

One word: Scary.

We are fully capable of beating both teams, let's just hope the entire team shows up, and not just one player.

P.S. Stafford scored tonight! & then Ottawa beat them! (Of course it couldn't be in regulation, but yeah) If this could happen everynight, where whomever I like scores, and then the other team that needs to beat them does, I will be happy.

Players Spotlight: Drew Stafford and Luca Caputi

Drew Stafford

In the past 10 days he has had his second career hat trick and 2 more goals.

His last goal that he had was absolutely a beautiful solo effort.
Where does this goal rank on his "list", psh bitch please.

Reporters ask the dumbest questions.

Plus he loves Everytime I Die, how can I not love him?

Luca "Sidney" Caputi

I have loved him since we drafted him.
First NHL game/shift results in a goal. How can you not be impressed?
We (Noodles, Henrik, and I) Have officially dubbed him Luca "Sidney" Caputi. His intermission interview (which I cannot find anywhere) was adorable.
When asked to walk us through the goal he responded, "Well there I am on the ground and I just kept whacking away at it".
Or something to that effect.
Either way it was adorable.

Oh yeah. Thank you Malkin for picking up the entire team, throwing them onto your back and saying "Come the fuck on guys, this is pathetic" The Post has an article linking the Steelers and the Penguins efforts, and how Malkin lifted the Penguins up. Read for your pleasure here.

Pens v Columbus tonight.

Noodles is not happy due to the fact that Steve Mason isn't playing, and now with Goose being scratched I'm not sure how she will react. Hide your small children and fire arms, it could get messy.

I never say anything about the games because I leave the jinxing up to Steigy and Bobby Boy.

Aftermath: Penguins-3 Devils-4 OT

I mean at least we got a point right?

Ha.

As Noodles, Henrik and I sat at the RMU hockey game with 37 seconds left in the Penguins game, we knew the lead wasn't safe. Just like that Langenbrunner had to be a hero, twice.

Something that needs to be said...

THE PENGUINS LOSING IS NOT RYAN WHITNEY'S FAULT. PLEASE SHUT UP HATEWAGONERS.

FYI; Hockey is a TEAM sport. Does anyone verbally abuse Scuderi whenever he deflects a shot in? No. Did anyone want to trade Zigomanis when he won a faceoff right into the back of our net? No. Did anyone want to shoot Kris Letang when he hand passed the puke right to Maltby and it resulted in a goal? No. Get off his back.

A few things you people might be missing about how good Ryan Whitney actually is...

1)He leads the team in ice time EVERY game, for a reason.

2)He has the best tape to tape passes that helps us in a quicker transition out of our zone. Which a lot of the time we are in great need of.

3)Even though the power play doesn't show it because of Mike Yeo, Ryan Whitney holds the point and does a pretty damn good job, better then Malkin on the point by far.

Everyone messes up. This is a team sport. People keep saying 'Wait until we get Gonchar back', it's not going to fix everything. It's going to help, but it's not going to just fix everything.

Ryan Whitney should not be traded. Ray Shero is not a dumbass, unlike all you bandwagon fucks. You don't coach, or Generally Manage a team for a reason, and thank god for that.

With that being said, have a nice day.

Penguins vs. King Henrik. Wait. Didn't we just do this?

The hockey world is finally back to normal.
The All Star weekend is in the past, and even though it was fun and hilarious, I'm ready for some real hockey. 7 days was a long time.

The final push for the playoffs will be a good one. Currently Pittsburgh is on the outside looking in. We need to win a majority of the games, but I know we can do it.

Cookie Monster is suspended for 2 games because of the Mellon Arena curse. Damn Hurricanes, who are you anyways? I may love Tuomo, Noodles may love Brandon Sutter, and yeah Cam Ward may play like Jesus Christ against us, but whatever. I think goalies enjoy playing like Jesus Christ against us. It was pretty much a bullshit suspension call, but whatevs, that's sports for you.

The WBS boyz are still here and in full force. 'Nough said.

I am forced to miss the game tonight because I had this wonderful idea to go to college, and like a good student, I go to my classes. But I am sure Noodles and Henrik will tape the game for me, and give me minute by minute text message updates because I am crazy and need to know everything right when it happens.

I swear if Goose is a healthy scratch I am personally launching a war against the coaches. LET THE BOY PLAY! I'm sure Noodles will try and burn down Mellon Arena too, so it's in their best interest to play him.

In other news, Ovechkin finally got a taste of his own medicine, and didn't like it too much.

I obviously didn't make this video, and unfortunately the only one I could find was made by an Ovechkin fan. I would never put "Alex Ovechkin Scary Fall". Mine would be more along the lines of "Bitch getting what he deserves" or "This is what you get for injurying half the NHL, bitch."

'Alex the Great' didn't seem too happy going down the runway. He decided he was going to be mister pouty pants and throw his equipment down. The only credit I can give him is he said "It was just a hockey moment -- it is OK," so all you Caps fans can now pull your panties out of the bunch they are in and breathe.

I wonder how other fans would fair being Penguins fans? Even if we lose we still see it in a positive light if no one got injured.

Oh well, we die-hard Pens fans are strange, strange Creatures.

A weekend in review: The All-Star insanity.

Too many things happened this weekend to even know where to begin.

So I will probably just ramble so forgive me.

Apparently Malkin and Ovechkin made up, the question is, was it real or for PR? Hmm...

Guess we will find out February 27th.

Malkin was amazing in the Accuracy contest. He was my only prediction that won, but whatevs. His goal in the game was also amazing. I vote him for "best goal of the entire game", and there were enough goals to go around. Maybe some of those can get donated to Pittsburgh.

What Ovechkin did was pretty funny. I hate admitting it, stupid showboating Russian.

Marc Savard is hilarious. I loved him being mic'd up. He's such a button.

Henrik is by far the best dressed man in the NHL. It should be illegal in at least 47 states, and 9 countries how beautiful it is. Plus he makes eye love hardcore to the camera and i'm pretty sure impregnated at least 58 women.

Toews scored and Noodles almost died. 'Nough said on that. Except that Toews is a certifyably QT.

Man crushes were re-united for the weekend and it was adorable.

The little boys a.k.a. Younstars were adorable. Their photoshoots were almost too much too handle. Kris Letang scored and I about passed out, especially when they tried to give it to Marc Staal. BITCHES, that goal was Tanger's. It was funny, especially because Staal was giving him a hard time about it.

It was a crazy weekend, and this re-cap is half assed, but if you're even reading this blog, then you probably were glued to your T.V. since Thursday and already know what happened.

I will leave you with this. I could hardly contain myself when I saw these beautiful boys signing on the red carpet. Then when I heard snipets of them playing during intermission, Henrik thought they showed Tanger because of my school-girl screaming. I've been in love with them since I was about 13 or 14, and I've never stopped. I just kept it hidden. It's quite embarrassing to admit but I'm finally coming out of the closet.

I've wanted to marry this man since I was 13.

Pittsburghs going to the S-U-P-E-R-B-O-W-L.

Ahh, once again the Steelers are the AFC Champions and on the way to the Superbowl.

Southside was absolutely INSANE, duh.

Photobucket
Photobucket

It was one of the most hard hitting games of the entire season.

I thought for sure McGahee and Clarke were dead as soon as they hit, scary moment for both teams.

Sweed redeemed himself after apparently dipping his hands in a bucket full of butter and dropping a perfect pass. It happens to everyone, but if we would have lost he probably would have been humiliated and terrorize by fans more then he already was. He almost killed Ivy as well and redeemed himself.

Heinz Ward's knee better be good for the Superbowl. I will cry if he doesn't play due to him being amazing and also my crush that I've had on him since I was 8 years old.

Photobucket

Get those Terrible Towels our and waving!

Apparently none of the Eastern Conference teams except the big bad Bruins got the memo to lose yesterday to help the Pens out. Well Florida lost as well but since they were playing the Sabres, one of them had to win.

The Blues absolutely hands down had the most amazing win. David Backes is a god. He pulled a total Crosby move and it was delicious. Yes I said delicious.

Eric Staal and Tuomo Ruutu are in town tonight! I know no one really cares about Tuomo but I throughly enjoy the Ruutu brothers, so it excites me. Noodle's is the most amazing person in the world and gave me her ticket for tonight's game, and also the chance to help on the blog post, hopefully I don't screw it up too bad.

Oh and yes our 44th President of the United States; Barack Obama.

It's a Pittsburgh Sunday (funday).

Today's agenda for almost every Pittsburgher.

Pens v. Rangers 12:30

&

Steelers v. Ravens 6:30.

Home ice and home field advantage.

I get to watch about 2 hours of the Pen's game, then my work is holding me prisoner from 3-8:30, lame sauce. Then hurry home for the rest of the Steeler's game.

Enough of my agenda, because no one really cares.

This is a UGE game for the Penguins, but then again, isn't every game a big one right now?

We don't even know who is playing due to all the injuries, so this should be interesting.

Some things...

-PENGUINS-

- I along with Noodles and Henrik LOVE the WBS boys. They are insane, finish their checks, and are like 200% on the ice. Bissonnette is a freaking crazy man and maybe should start this game off with a fight as well. He's been in 4 NHL fights this season and has yet to loose one, he's insane.

-Dustin Jeffrey is probably the cutest boy in the entire world. The picture of him holding the puppy brings tears to my eyes.

-As Noodles and Henrik have already pointed out, Bob and Paul's commentary keeps getting more and more sexually oriented. Maybe due to all the losing we're just trying to focus on anything else, but I really think they're really losing it. Maybe today's break will be good for them.

-This could be the game where Letang murders Dubinsky.

-Hopefully Jordan gets a bogus interference call on Marc, that was REALLY awesome.

-STEELERS-

-Luke Ravenstahl changed his name to Luke Steelerstahl, which apparently if translated, he basically changed his name to Luke Steelersteel. But it's amazing none the less.

-Someone said that they think Big Ben is overratted and thinks Leftwich should start over Ben. Of course this is coming out of a Philly fan, and we all know they can't be trusted. I may think Ben is a total douchebag off the field, because well he is, but I wouldn't put anyone over him.

-As I have said since Heinz Ward started playing for the Steelers in 1998, when he smiles rainbows appear and kittens are born. I love this man.

-It's amazing and adorable how much the Pen's are rooting for the Steelers. Goose is probably bursting at the seems with excitement for tonight's game.

This was a completely pointless post, but whatevs, I do what I want!

From Russia with love.

As we all know...

-Ovechkin and Malkin don't exactly see eye to eye anymore. That's no secret. This game should be interesting. I plan on counting how many times Ovechkin charges at Malkin and tries relentlessly to kill him.

-On a more interesting note now that Semin the professional bongo player has put his 2-cents in about how there is "nothing special" about Sid, and "a dead piece of wood" could get paid 10 million as long as he sells, things should heat up a little more.

-I would love to inform Semin that the love of his life Ovechkin actually is the highest paid player in the league at a whopping 10 million a year, while Sid took a discount of 8.7 million, he indirectly jobbed Ovie. This could be the NHL's version of Lost in Translation. Whoever translated his statement should be fired since the Caps had to cover for his intelligent remarks.

-I just hope he doesn't mistake Jordie for a bongo drum like he did for his brother Marc. We all know now that Semin can't resist the oppurtunity to laid down some sick beats.

-Pretty much all I want to say about the game, I'll leave the jinxing up to Paul and Bobby.

P.S. Notes from last night

3 Stars...

3) Letang (!!!!!)
2) Crosby (duh)
1) Staal (finally)

-I wish Staal and Crosby could have tied for 1st so Cookie Monster could get a star, but I wouldn't strip Tanger. He led the team in TOI (over 25 minutes), had 1 assist, and an awesome defensive game.

-TK FINALLY got a goal, about damn time. Now if he could only score at home.

-If we wouldn't have won last night headband Hartnell getting a passer might have called for suicide, or at least a coma.

-Cappy v. Cappy last night was amazing. Sid showed Richards what's up, and Mikey went home crying.

A little note for the coach.

Dear Therrien,

Please STOP scratching Goose and Halbert (when healthy), and playing Doucher and Manorexia. They make me want to puke from nervousness everytime they are on the ice together. Goose and Halbert are about a million times better then Doucher and Manorexia. Praising your point-leading defencemen shouldn't involve scratching him.

Oh and on the powerplay, switch Whitney and Tanger's point so they can do one timers. That's for Mike Yeo, but just thought I would mention it.

Thank you,

Letude.

Oh and you know that's right.

This past week was filled with hockey, not sleeping enough, driving, and work.

-Staying up 37 hours straight while student rushing was probably the best idea we've ever had, make that second best.

-Driving to Wilkes-Barre, PA to see the baby Penguins in the middle of a winter storm was probably the best idea of the week. We made it alive and unharmed.

Conversations while driving to Wilkes-Barre and back...

-How we wanted to take Curry home with us due to how adorable he is.

-Doing a tree graph of how each NHL player is connected through bromance.

-Throwing up in my mouth when Hossa's name was mentioned. Not out of excitement. He broke our hearts.

-Listening to the Pens game on the Avs radio station, as they continued to think Ray Whitney played for us instead of Ryan Whitney. Nice try.

-Screaming when Staalsy scored his short handed goal.

-How Jeff Taffe is a professional AHL'er.

-Noodle's love for Jesse Lacey and my love for Anthony Green.

-Not so much a conversation but screaming/singing Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco songs to keep us awake that I haven't listened to since oh, 9th grade.

-Probably some inappropriate conversations that I don't remember/shouldn't relay to the public. There's always at least one of those thrown into the mix.

-Even though the baby Pen's lost, Ben Lovejoy's goal was fantastic, a lucky bounce and the goalie out of position was all it took, but it was amazing. I told Katie as soon as it happened and she was probably just as excited from Pittsburgh.

-The game went into a shootout and Berkhoel is a skank and couldn't close his legs to save his life. Noodles and I called both 5 hole goals from a mile away.

-Wally has been re-assigned to the baby Pens, uh Therrien why couldn't you re-assign him Saturday, or not at all.

-Pens v. Flyers tomorrow, hopefully something clicks. If headband Hartnell gets a goal, there might be a 3-way suicide.

Staal's just want to have fun. Oh and STAY IN PITTSBURGH.

Ladie's and Gentlemen say hello to your 3rd line Center (and more since he's found some wing time and happy with it) for the next 4 years, yes I said it, 4 years.

Staal!

Jordan mother f-ing Staal.

So everyone who said "Oh man Staal is definitely going in the trade" and "Staal and Tanger are being traded for Kovalchuk" can sit down and shut up.

Everyone is thinking way to irrationally about the trade's and who were willing to give away to get a winger for Crosby.

I'd rather have depth 3 lines deep and 6 amazing defensemen then an amazing top line, weaker lines the rest of the way through and a defenseman who is a liability when on the ice (cough, cough Boucher and Eaton) all because we decided that players like Staal, Letang, and TK are deemed expendable because we need a winger.

Pretty much all can be put to rest now that TK and Staalsy are re-signed.

Predators tonight.

C'mon boys, let's get 2 wins in a row so all the bandwagoners can stop shitting their pants, and throwing you under the bus.

My projected lines for tonight, basically it's not going to look like this, but this is how I think it should be.

Dupuis*-Crosby-Kennedy
Satan-Malkin-Sykora
Talbot-Staal-Cooke
Godard-Jeffrey-Wallace

Orpik-Whitney
Goligoski-Letang
Scuderi-Gill*

*Possibly injured/oh shit that's not good.

And like I said Staal's just want to have fun!

O' Captain, Our Captain

Sid has finally snapped. He's had enough and for good reason.

When a captain like Sidney Crosby flips and goes nuts, you know things need to change.
Maybe a trade.
Maybe leave the fucking lines alone, especially D.
Mike Yeo finally got the message to take Malkin off the point, all he needs to do is to make sure he stays off.
Something has got to give.

Like Noodles and Henrik said, it's been worse then this.
This isn't rock bottom.
Rock bottom is not know if you're going to have a hockey club or not.

Pens fans need to stand behind their team and NOT boo them off.
They know they are doing bad, are you really helping by booing?
Stop bandwagoning, it's disgusting.

As for a trades, quit saying to trade Letang, Staal, and TK.
Are you all morons?

Staal - 20 years old, supposedly the best of the 4, "big body presence", he didn't get the A for no reason.

TK- 22 years old, 150% on the ice at all times, a grinder on the boards, gets dirty goals, sticks up for his team when nessecary, i.e. Upshawl.

Letang- 21 years old, 1 of the 4 right handed shot defensivemen in the league, fast/good skater, smart puck handler.

They are all young and need time to grow. Aren't we supposed to be building a franchise, based around young players who will help win cups in the next 5-7 years?

Trading Boucher and Eaton would be the best on the D.

Then there would be six healthy, reliable D, until Gonch comes back then things will shake up again.

This line shifting needs to stop.
No chemistry can start because the poor boys are playing with different people every shift.

Keep the baby D together and they will find their chemistry.

Keep the third line together, it was working before.

Above all Penguin's fans.
Heed to the words of the amazing Steve Perry, Don't stop believin'.

If we stop believing in them, they will too.
Now more then ever they need their fans behind them to give them confidence.

Stop, 'Tanger time. Pens v. Bruins.

Thanks to Noodles and Henrik I was able to watch last nights game as they DVR'd it for me.

It was Tanger's first game back after missing 4 straight, no one was more excited then me and Jay Caufield as i'm convinced he is in love with Kris.

-Baby D (Noodles has fantastical nicknames) were used as forwards, instead of scratching 2 D and having 6 good D we decided to turn Tang and Gogo into forwards. Why? I'm not too sure why or what Therrien is thinking, but it's not working. Tanger was fighting his instincts to go back and play D. He had 5 shots on net, which is probably his season high or close to it. It's good to see him start shooting more. It's because of his bromance with Gogo when they are together, Bob Errey was all over that though.

-Boston was pretty much raping us and not getting called for penalities, always good to see the refs doing their jobs.

-Malkin is still on the point. At one point last night I threatened the lives of Mike Yeo and company if he doesn't take Malkin off the point. Everyone is getting throughly annoyed now.

-Boucher was stratched, as he is obviously filling Sydor's role, healthy scratching and all.

-Timmy Wallace is fucking amazing and needs to stay forever.

-Gonch has started working with Mike Kadar!

-Animal (TK) could return TO-FREAKING-MORROW, or sometime next week. Thank god. I can't wait for his return and watch him rape everyone.

-Ziggy's return is still unknown. What the f. He was supposed to be back the game after he was injured. Not Happy. Henrik said that Malkin's faceoff percentage was 20%. My god we need Ziggy back to even out Malkin's shitty faceoff percentage.

-Noodles and I are both being punished by Barnes & Noble and are forced to work through every game, so we will be watching it tomorrow when we are off work, at around 9 at night.

-Wings won the Classic, surprise surprise. But Cleary was shown what's up by Brent Seabrooks. Probably the best moment of the Classic.
